Cycling activities and trips
The aim of the course is to give you an introduction to sports, to enable you to acquire a range of essential skills, and prepare you for working within the sporting industry. You will be introduced to a wide range of practical work-based skills and the possibility of coaching.
This is a competence based qualification which is assessed at work or in a simulated workplace. Your assessor will advise you on the most appropriate method of assessment e.g. assessor observation, work product documents, case study etc. for each unit so that you build up a portfolio of evidence to meet the standards required by the awarding body. Examples of what might be covered are:
- Health and safety for different sports
- Prepare suitable activities for warming-up
- Prepare suitable activities to suit individuals particular needs
- Identify positive aspects of ones own performance
For this qualification knowledge and practice is assessed using evidence generated by you undertaking your normal work duties. Methods of assessment can include observation, discussion, looking at documentation, testimony and personal statement.
